Food condition guide
Food and consumables need clearer guidance than classic marketplace items. These levels help communicate freshness, shelf life, and safety more transparently.
Fresh / New
Fresh product in very good condition, recently produced or harvested, with no noticeable quality loss.
Long shelf life
Good product with a comfortably long remaining shelf life. Suitable for normal storage and later use.
Good
Still good quality and safe under normal conditions, but not as fresh or attractive as in the top categories.
Consumable
The product can still be consumed, but should be used soon. It may be close to the best-before date or visibly less appealing.
Expired (MHD)
The best-before date has passed. This does not automatically mean unsafe, but it must be checked and declared honestly.
Not for consumption
No longer safe for eating or drinking. This state is only appropriate when the item is meant for disposal, recycling, or clear warning purposes.
